Princess Treatment Terms of Use
Version 1.0 · Effective October 8, 2026
URL: https://madebypb.com/princesstreatment/terms · German version: https://madebypb.com/de/princesstreatment/terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Patrick Böttge, Ferdinand-Rhode-Str. 5, 04107 Leipzig, Germany (“we”, “us”). We provide the Princess Treatment app (“Princess Treatment” or the “App”). These Terms are also the license agreement for the App (custom EULA).
IN SHORT: PRINCESS TREATMENT IS A WISHLIST AND SECRET PLANNER FOR COUPLES. WISHES ARE INVITATIONS, NOT ORDERS. THE APP MUST NOT BE USED TO CONTROL, MONITOR OR PRESSURE ANYONE (SECTION 5). YOU CAN END THE CONNECTION WITH YOUR PARTNER AT ANY TIME (SECTION 4). IN AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911 (US), 999 (UK) OR 112 (EU).
IF YOU LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES, PLEASE READ SECTION 13. IT REQUIRES INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION AND WAIVES CLASS ACTIONS AND JURY TRIALS, UNLESS YOU OPT OUT WITHIN 30 DAYS. SECTION 13 DOES NOT APPLY TO CONSUMERS IN THE EU, THE EEA, THE UK OR SWITZERLAND.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
These Terms apply when you use the App. You accept them when you tick the box in the onboarding and tap “Agree and continue”. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to accept these Terms and to make purchases.
2. What Princess Treatment does
Princess Treatment lets you:
- save wishes of three kinds – things (title, link, photo, approximate price, size/colour, importance), experiences (for example a trip or a class, with a preferred time and budget feel) and relief or mood wishes (for example “no cleaning for me this week”), which are valid for 1–7 days and then expire automatically;
- connect with one partner through an iCloud invitation, see each other’s wishes and tap “I’ll do it” on a relief wish;
- save a partner’s wish as a secret plan, or create your own plans for gifts and activities, with occasion, date, budget, status and checklist; plans stay in your own private iCloud area and are never shared;
- tap “Reveal” (immediately or on a date) so that a fulfilled wish moves to your partner’s “Fulfilled” list – before that, your partner sees no change;
- keep a profile “What I like” (sizes, favourites, no-gos) that you fill in yourself and share with your partner;
- add occasions (birthday, anniversary, holidays, your own) with reminders;
- save links from other apps with the share extension, use a widget and lock plans with Face ID;
- browse curated experience ideas that contain marked affiliate links (Section 7);
- use the App without a partner as a personal wishlist and secret planner, and share your wishlist as text through the iOS share sheet.
3. What Princess Treatment is not
No guarantee of secrecy beyond the App. Plans are never stored in the shared area, and notifications, widgets, Spotlight and the app switcher are designed not to reveal them. The App cannot control what others see on your unlocked iPhone, in your iCloud account or in places where you save or share content yourself (for example screenshots or links you send).
No guarantee of wishes being fulfilled. The App does not promise that any wish will be fulfilled, that a gift will fit or that an experience can be booked. Sizes and favourites are your partner’s own entries; the App does not convert sizes.
Reminders. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. iOS decides whether and when they appear (notifications, Focus, battery, time zone). They may be late or missing. The App is no substitute for your own calendar for important dates.
iCloud. Connecting and syncing depend on Apple’s iCloud service and on both iPhones being signed in to iCloud. We do not operate iCloud and cannot guarantee that it is available.
Not a counselling or emergency service. Princess Treatment does not give relationship, psychological or legal advice.
4. Connecting, sharing and disconnecting
Invitation. You connect by sending your partner an iCloud invitation from the App; your partner accepts it in the App. Connecting requires an iPhone with iCloud on both sides. You can connect with one partner at a time.
Where the data lives. The shared area of a couple (wishes of both partners, profiles, occasions and the Pro unlock, Section 9) is stored in the private iCloud database of the partner who sent the invitation and shared with the invited partner through Apple’s iCloud sharing. Each partner’s secret plans are stored only in that partner’s own private iCloud area and are never shared. Each entry is marked with its author; only the author can edit it in the App.
Disconnecting. Either partner can end the connection at any time in the App (“End connection”); the App explains the consequences before you confirm. When the connection ends:
- the other partner loses access to the shared data;
- your own wishes stay with you – before ending, the App saves a local copy of your own wishes;
- all secret plans stay with their author;
- a Pro unlock that the invited partner received through the connection ends (Section 9).
What your partner has already seen or written down cannot be taken back by ending the connection.
5. Respectful use
Princess Treatment is made for couples who want to share wishes freely. You agree that you will:
- only invite a person who wants to connect with you, and accept that they may end the connection at any time;
- not use the App to monitor, control, threaten or pressure your partner or anyone else, or to demand that wishes be fulfilled;
- not enter or share content that is unlawful, harassing or that infringes the rights of others;
- only fill in your own profile, not someone else’s.
The App deliberately has no points, counters, “overdue” markers, read receipts or location features, and it does not import chats or contacts.
If you feel controlled or under pressure in your relationship, you can end the connection at any time. Under Settings › Help the App lists support services.
6. Your content and your responsibilities
You are responsible for what you enter and share (wishes, photos, links, profile entries, plans, notes) and for having the right to use photos and other content you add. Links you save are stored and opened unchanged; the websites behind them are run by third parties, and their terms and prices apply. You are also responsible for keeping your iPhone and iCloud account secure, for how you share your wishlist outside the App, and for using reminders together with your own calendar for important dates.
7. Experience ideas and affiliate links
The App shows curated experience ideas (for example a city trip or a cooking class) with links to third-party providers. These are affiliate links: if you book through them, we may receive a commission from the provider. Every such card is marked “Ad”. The links are fixed in the App and do not contain any identifier of you or your device. They open in Safari, not inside the App. You can turn experience ideas off in Settings. Your contract for a booking is only with the provider; their terms and privacy policy apply, and we are not responsible for their offers, prices or services. Links that you save yourself are never rewritten to include affiliate tags.
8. License
We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including Family Sharing where enabled). You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or distribute the App except as permitted by law.
9. Subscriptions and purchases
Free. Connecting, wishes of all three kinds (unlimited), seeing your partner’s wishes, “I’ll do it”, the profile, the share extension, sharing your wishlist as text and experience ideas are free. Free use includes up to 5 active secret plans and 2 occasions (birthday, anniversary) with 1 reminder each.
Princess Treatment Pro adds unlimited secret plans, unlimited occasions with reminders 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days ahead, reveal on a date, checklists and budget in plans, the “Small gesture today” widget, Face ID lock for plans and the “Fulfilled” archive. Pro is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial (yearly only), or a one-time lifetime purchase that does not expire. The price is shown in the App before you buy (at launch, for example, US$3.99/month, US$17.99/year and US$39.99 lifetime in the US; £3.99, £17.99 and £39.99 in the UK).
Billing, renewal, cancellation. Purchases are processed and billed by Apple as our agent (in the United States) or sold by Apple (in other regions, including the EU, the UK and Switzerland). A subscription renews automatically at the price shown in the App until you cancel it in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A free trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel it before the trial ends. Apple handles refunds and, where applicable, withdrawals under its policies (in the App: Settings › Pro, which also offers “Restore Purchases” and “Manage Subscription”). Pro can be shared with your family through Apple’s Family Sharing.
Reminders. On the yearly plan with a free trial you can turn on a reminder 2 days before the trial ends (off by default). For a yearly subscription the App reminds you 30 days before it renews (on by default, can be turned off in Settings › Pro). These notifications only show the plan, price, date and how to cancel – never wishes or plans.
One purchase for both of you. If you buy Pro and are connected with your partner, the App stores Apple’s signed confirmation of your purchase in your shared area so that your partner’s App can check it on their device. Your partner can then use Pro without buying it again, for as long as you are connected. If the connection ends, Pro ends for the invited partner; the buyer keeps Pro. The purchase remains the buyer’s purchase; the partner uses the Pro features together with the buyer and has no own claim against Apple or us from it. If a purchase is refunded or a subscription ends, Pro also ends for the partner; because the App has no server, this may only be detected the next time the buyer’s App is opened.
When Pro ends, everything stays readable and nothing is deleted. New secret plans are limited to 5 active plans again, and occasions fall back to 1 reminder.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AND EXCEPT AS STATED IN SECTION 9, PRINCESS TREATMENT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT REMINDERS ARE DELIVERED ON TIME, THAT ICLOUD SYNC OR SHARING IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE, OR THAT THIRD-PARTY OFFERS BEHIND LINKS ARE AVAILABLE OR ACCURATE.
This Section does not limit any rights you have under mandatory consumer law (see Section 12).
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, FOR LOSS OF DATA STORED ONLY ON YOUR DEVICE OR IN YOUR OR YOUR PARTNER’S ICLOUD, OR FOR OFFERS AND SERVICES OF THIRD PARTIES REACHED THROUGH LINKS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL OTHER CLAIMS RELATING TO PRINCESS TREATMENT IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PRINCESS TREATMENT IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR (B) US$50.
THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE, TO FRAUD, GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, TO LIABILITY UNDER PRODUCT LIABILITY LAWS, OR TO ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
New Jersey residents. If you live in New Jersey, the following do not apply to you to the extent New Jersey law does not permit them: (a) the disclaimer of implied warranties in Section 10, (b) the exclusion of indirect, incidental, special, consequential and punitive damages, of liability for loss of data stored only on your device or in iCloud and of liability for third-party offers in Section 11, and (c) the cap on our total liability in Section 11. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the New Jersey Punitive Damages Act, the New Jersey Products Liability Act, the New Jersey Uniform Commercial Code or the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. All other parts of Sections 10 and 11 apply to you.
12. Consumers in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you are a consumer and live in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, this Section applies. Where it conflicts with other Sections, it takes priority.
- Statutory rights. You keep your statutory rights for digital products, including remedies for defects and the right to updates (in Germany §§ 327 ff. BGB; in the UK the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Section 10 does not apply to you.
- Liability. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under product liability law and under any guarantee we give. For slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an obligation that makes the proper performance of this agreement possible in the first place and that you may regularly rely on (for example, that the App stores your entries, keeps your plans out of the shared area and schedules reminders on your iPhone according to your settings). In that case our liability is limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this type of agreement. Section 11 does not apply to you.
- No arbitration. Section 13 does not apply to you.
- Governing law. German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
- Courts. You may bring claims in the courts where you live or in Germany.
- Consumer dispute resolution. We are not willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
13. Dispute resolution for users in the United States: arbitration and class action waiver
13.1 Informal resolution first. Before starting a claim, each side sends the other a written notice describing the individual claim and the relief requested (to us: [email protected]). We will try to resolve it within 60 days.
13.2 Binding individual arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved within 60 days, any dispute arising out of or relating to Princess Treatment or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration. The American Arbitration Association (AAA) administers it under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where they apply, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section 13. The arbitration may take place by video or in the county where you live.
13.3 Small claims. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.
13.4 Fees. We pay all AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees, except the consumer filing fee set by the AAA rules.
13.5 WAIVER OF CLASS ACTIONS AND JURY TRIAL. YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO TAKE PART IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION OR ARBITRATION. A court, not an arbitrator, decides whether this waiver is enforceable.
13.6 Public injunctive relief. A court decides any request for public injunctive relief after the individual arbitration ends. That court action is paused while the arbitration is pending.
13.7 Severability. If a court finds part of this Section 13 unenforceable for a claim, that claim (and only that claim) goes to court. The rest of Section 13 stays in effect.
13.8 Opt-out. You may opt out of this Section 13 within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Email [email protected] with your name and the sentence “I opt out of arbitration.” Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
14. Governing law for users outside the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
For users in the United States, the Federal Arbitration Act and the laws of the State of New York govern these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For all other users outside the regions named in Section 12, German law applies. In every case you keep any protection that the mandatory law of the place where you live gives you.
15. Changes to these Terms
We will tell you about material changes in the App and ask you to accept them before you continue to use the App. Changes do not apply to disputes you told us about before the change.
16. Apple as third-party beneficiary and other Apple terms
- Parties. These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
- Warranty. To the extent any warranty has not been effectively disclaimed, we, not Apple, are responsible for it. If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App, including Apple’s iCloud terms.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
17. General
If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, we do not waive it. These Terms and the Privacy Policy (https://madebypb.com/princesstreatment/privacy) are the entire agreement between you and us about Princess Treatment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them if we transfer the App, as long as your rights are not reduced. A German version (“Nutzungsbedingungen”) is available in the App and at https://madebypb.com/de/princesstreatment/terms; both versions have the same content.
