Babypapiere Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 3 October 2026
Summary
- We do not collect your data. What you enter in Babypapiere stays on your iPhone. We have no access to it.
- Your child’s health data (entries on check-ups and vaccinations, the appointments you entered for them, and stored documents such as scans of the vaccination card) stays on this iPhone only. It is never stored in iCloud and never shared.
- If you choose, you can share deadlines and tasks (no health data) with your partner through your own iCloud.
- No account, no ads, no tracking, no sale of data.
1. Controller
Patrick Böttge, Ferdinand-Rhode-Str. 5, 04107 Leipzig, Germany, [email protected]. Legal notice: in the app under Settings › Impressum.
2. What the app stores on your iPhone
To work, Babypapiere stores the following only locally on your device:
- details about your child: first and last name, date of birth or due date, birth in hospital or at home, optionally place of birth, address and your child’s tax ID (Steuer-ID);
- details about your family: married yes/no, federal state, type of health insurance, planned daycare (Kita) start;
- deadlines, tasks and their status (including whether you hid a task as “not relevant to us”);
- health data (Art. 9 GDPR): your entries on pediatric check-ups and vaccinations (date as shown in the U-Heft or vaccination card) and the appointments you entered for them yourself. The general STIKO vaccination schedule comes with the app; it contains no data about your child;
- documents you scan or add to the document vault (for example birth certificate, vaccination card, official letters);
- settings, purchase status, and the version and time of your acceptance of the Terms of Use. The app deliberately does not store the parents’ tax IDs or bank details; you fill them in yourself on the fill-in guides.
The data is protected by iOS data encryption and, optionally, by Face ID. If you delete the app or use “Alle Daten löschen” (Delete all data), it is removed from the device.
Storing data on your device is strictly necessary for the service you request (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). We do not process this data ourselves; you record it as part of your personal and household activities.
3. Sharing with your partner via iCloud (optional)
If you turn on “Mit Partner teilen” (share with partner), only deadlines and tasks (for example “Elterngeld beantragen – by 06.12.2026”) are stored in your private iCloud and shared with the invited person through Apple CloudKit. Health data and documents are never shared or stored in iCloud. The provider is Apple; Apple’s privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We have no access to your iCloud data. You can stop sharing at any time.
4. Documents and PDFs you create
The app creates overviews, checklists and templates on your device. You decide whether and with whom you share them (for example the Kita or your pediatrician). Data minimization tip: for the Kita, the detachable participation card (Teilnahmekarte) of the U-Heft is enough; nobody may demand to see the examination results in the U-Heft.
5. Reminders and calendar
Reminders are local notifications on your device. No data is transmitted for them. If you add an appointment to your calendar, iOS creates it in the calendar you choose; if that calendar syncs via iCloud or another service, that service’s rules apply. Babypapiere asks for your permission first and only adds a title and date (for example “U3 – pediatric practice”).
6. Purchases
Apple handles purchases. We receive neither your name nor your email address or payment details, only aggregated, non-personal sales reports. The purchase status is checked on the device.
7. If you contact us
If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Please do not send us your child’s health data. We delete messages once your request is completed, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Email provider: Apple (iCloud Mail), Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland.
8. No tracking, no analytics, no advertising
Babypapiere contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking technologies and does not pass any data to third parties.
9. Your rights
Your data stays with you. You can view, change, export and delete it in the app at any time. Where we process personal data (in practice only your emails to us), you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner (Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte, SDTB), Maternistraße 17, 01067 Dresden, Germany, www.datenschutz.sachsen.de.
10. Changes
We update this policy when the app changes and state the new date. We announce material changes in the app.
