Privacy Policy Tonnentag
Effective: 5 October 2026 · Version 1.0
Summary
- We do not collect your data. Your addresses, calendar links, dates and settings stay on your iPhone. We have no access to them.
- No location. Tonnentag never asks for your location. An “address” is just a name you choose (e.g. “Home”) plus the calendar source.
- Subscribed calendars are downloaded by your iPhone directly from the calendar’s provider (usually your waste company).
- No account, no ads, no tracking, no sale of data.
1. Controller
Patrick Böttge, Ferdinand-Rhode-Str. 5, 04107 Leipzig, Germany, [email protected]. Legal notice: in the app under Settings › Imprint.
2. Data stored on your iPhone
Only locally on your device: address names, calendar links or imported calendar files, time of last update; collection dates, bin types and your assignments; reminder settings and “put out” ticks; purchase status and the version and time of your consent to the Terms of Use. The data is protected by iOS data encryption. Deleting the app or using “Delete all data” removes it. Storage is strictly necessary for the service you request (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
3. Downloading your calendar from its provider
When you add a calendar link, your iPhone downloads it when you add it, when you open the app and, if iOS allows, in the background. Like any website request, the calendar’s provider (e.g. your waste company or its service provider) receives your IP address, date and time, and the link itself, which may contain your town, street and house number. The provider is responsible for this processing and its privacy policy applies. We receive no data.
4. Shared tick-offs via iCloud (Tonnentag Pro, optional)
If you share an address, dates, bin types, the “put out” status and the name of the person who ticked it off are stored in your private iCloud and shared with the people you invite via Apple CloudKit. Apple’s privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We have no access to your iCloud data. You can stop sharing at any time.
5. Reminders, widgets, Live Activity, Siri
Reminders are local notifications. Widgets, the Live Activity and Siri shortcuts read data on your device. No data is sent to us.
6. Purchases
Apple handles purchases. We receive no name, email address or payment data, only aggregated, non-personal sales reports. Purchase status is checked on the device.
7. Contacting us
If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete it once your request is resolved, unless we are legally required to keep it. Email provider: Apple (iCloud Mail), Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland.
8. No tracking, analytics or ads
Tonnentag contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking technology and shares no data with third parties.
9. Your rights
Your data stays with you: you can view, change, export (ICS) and delete it in the app at any time. Where we process personal data (in practice only your emails), you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, e.g. the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner (Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte, SDTB), Maternistraße 17, 01067 Dresden, Germany, www.datenschutz.sachsen.de.
10. Changes
We update this policy when the app changes and state the new date. We announce material changes in the app.
